Spiderette Solitaire
Spiderette plays Spider's move rule on Klondike's own deal: seven columns of one to seven cards, one deck, one stock instead of a second deck. Any card may sit on a card one rank higher regardless of suit, but only an unbroken same-suit run can be picked up and moved as a group. A completed King-to-Ace same-suit run at the foot of a column is swept off automatically. Clear all 52 cards into four such runs to win.

How do you play Spiderette solitaire?
Twenty-eight cards deal into seven columns of one to seven, only the last card of each face up — identical to Klondike's own deal. The other 24 cards form a stock. Clicking the stock deals one card face up onto every column at once, the same way Spider's stock does, and — also like Spider — that deal is refused while any column stands empty.
The move rule is Spider's, not Klondike's: any card may be placed on a card one rank higher regardless of suit, but only an unbroken same-suit descending run can be lifted and moved together — a single card can always move on its own. An empty column takes any card, of any rank, unlike Klondike's King-only rule.
How do you win Spiderette solitaire?
There are no foundations to build. Instead, whenever a complete King-to-Ace run of one suit sits together at the foot of a column, it is automatically swept off the board. Win by clearing all four suits this way — the tableau ends completely empty.

Spiderette is essentially one-deck Spider dealt like Klondike: half the columns, a quarter of the win condition, and a proper stock instead of Spider's five-round redeal, since one deck does not need ten columns to hold it.
How do you get better at spiderette?
- Keep same-suit sequences together whenever you canA mixed-suit stack looks the same as an ordered one on the board, but only the ordered kind can move as a group later. Sort as you go rather than leaving the untangling for the end.
- Use empty columns freely — they are not scarce hereWith any card able to start a new column, an empty one is a genuine workspace rather than the precious King-only slot it is in Klondike. Do not hoard it.
- Uncover face-down cards before chasing a sweepA hidden card is unknown information; a mixed-suit stack you can already see is not. Prioritise exposing what you cannot yet see.
- Deal the stock only when you are truly stuckEvery stock deal adds one unrelated card to the top of every column, which can break a same-suit run you were building. Exhaust your tableau options first.

- Do you need to match suits to build in Spiderette?
- Only to pick a group of cards up together. Any card can be dropped onto a card one rank higher regardless of suit — mixed-suit stacking is a normal, if temporary, part of play.
- Does an empty column take any card in Spiderette?
- Yes, any card of any rank — the same as Spider, and unlike Klondike's King-only rule.
- How many cards are in the Spiderette stock?
- Twenty-four, dealt one card to each of the seven tableau columns at a time, exactly like Spider's row deal. The last round is short by four cards, since 24 does not divide evenly by seven.
- Is Spiderette easier than two-deck Spider?
- Generally yes — one suit's worth of sweeping is a smaller task than clearing eight full runs from a 104-card board, even though the underlying move rule is identical.
